Stem cells as a potential therapeutic trend for experimental trichinosis

Background: Trichinella spiralis causes trichinosis through ingestion of pork contaminated by its infectivelarvae, resulting in intestinal and muscular phases infection the same host. Stem cells (SCs) treatsome diseases due to their capacity for trans-differentiation immunomodulation.Objective: To assess therapeutic impact mesenchymal stem (MSCs) during andmuscular stages T. spiralis-experimentally infected mice; used alone as monotherapy or combined withmebendazole (MBZ).Material Methods: Forty albino mice were obtain bone marrow MSCs. Another 100 albinomice divided into 2 groups 50 each simulating (a) (b) phases. Eachgroup was further subdivided 5 subgroups, 10 follows: G1a G1b: negative noninfected control; G2a G2b: positive G3a G3b: MBZ treated; G4aand G4b: MSCs tested; G5a G5b: therapytested. Mice phase sacrificed on 7th day post-infection (PI) while muscularphase 49th PI. Assessment done parasitological assessment (the number ofadult worms intestine encysted larvae diaphragm groups(b); histopathological histochemical all using hematoxylin eosin (HE it showed highest significant reduction numberof with preservation different tissues elements asinvestigated stains TEM.Conclusion: can be additive/synergistic therapy treatment trichinosis.
